A few months ago we heard that Cans sports bar on Damen was closing. Then, it did close. The building is now zoned for retail and from what we hear, will assume a tenant later this year.
Rumor has it that there's a sports-y store heading to this plot in Bucktown, but a retail insider in the neighborhood told Racked that that's untrue. Given the state of the gentrification of the neighborhood and the healthy track record of young luxury brands and high-end independent boutiques on the street, we've come up with a few speculations (and a Uniqlo fantasy) about which brand might have its eye on the space.
