N9NE Steakhouse [Photo: Facebook]
WEST LOOP—N9NE Steakhouse, a Chicago staple, abruptly closed after 13 years. The restaurant was a hangout for athletes and all sorts of celebrities.
WICKER PARK—The second restaurant from the team behind Ruxbin, Mott Street, opened a few blocks north on Ashland. It was one of the most awaited openings of the season.
BUCKTOWN—Scorched by fire and smoke damage just three months ago, Lillie's Q on North Avenue made a near-miraculous recovery by reopening last night. Firefighters on the scene in March didn't know if they would recover at all.
CHICAGO—Three new restaurants made it onto this month's Heatmap: Juno, Endgrain, and the very popular Parson's Chicken and Fish.
