Tom Ford Inching Closer to Opening on Oak Street

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Earlier today we stopped by the Esquire Theater because guess who just put white vinyl lettering on the black construction barricade? Tom Ford, that's who. The skeleton of inside of the store is all there and waiting for the high-end finishes.

When the barricade comes down, the 18,400 square foot 3-story building will have a stone and glass facade, hopefully referencing Tom Ford's signature white marble. A representative from Tom Ford originally told us they're shooting for a Fall '13 opening, though here the vinyl says "OPENING SUMMER 2013."
