Though there's been speculation that Thalia Hall may become Pilsen's go-to music venue, the structure will actually become home to another retail project within the next few months.
Racked 38 home member Modern Cooperative, which has been situated at its current Pilsen location since May 2012, will move into Thalia around September 2013. The new space will be double the size of the current store, the hours will expand, but the store will continue to participate in Pilsen's second Friday celebrations. As the store's co-owner put it, "We realized fairly quickly we'd outgrown our current space, and when the opportunity to move into Thalia Hall came up, we knew right away it'd be the perfect fit for us. We have so much appreciation for Pilsen's diverse culture and rich Czech/Bohemian history, so we're thrilled to be part of the revitalization of the landmarked Thalia Hall."
