Ross Dress for Less just opened four new stores in the Chicago area, but they've decided to pull out of a fifth location in Chatham. DNAinfo reports that the retailer has walked away from lease discussions to take over the 41,268-square-foot former Best Buy location at the Chatham Ridge Shopping Mall.
"I'd like to say we will have a tenant signed by the end of the year, but at this point I don't know when we will have someone in there," said the space's leasing agent, who revealed that Ross was intending to take the space before the deal fell through.
One resident quoted in the article said that she hoped a Shoe Carnival would take the space, others hoped for a sit-down restaurant.
