Last-minute Christmas shopping can get grinch-ugly and don't get us started on overnight shipping fees. So while you may still be planning your fall wardrobe, take a second to jot this down: the 2013 Christkindlmarket is coming to Daley Plaza from November 26 to December 24.

Now in its 18th year, the German-style Christmas village is stocked with wares from some 55 vendors. Admittedly, this is not the spot to score that "it" gift for your most style-savvy friends (unless they have a thing for cuckoo clocks—hey, no judgment here.) But it is a festive place to sip mulled wine and stock up on fun, kitschy goods that are perfectly appropriate for the season.

Over half of the market's vendors travel from Germany to showcase their wares in the market's cozy wooden huts. You can load up on everything from gorgeously detailed holiday ornaments to beer steins, woodcarvings and handmade jewelry. And if that doesn't help you cross off every item on your stocking-stuffer list, stores like Macy's, Sephora, and Anthropologie are all close by.

To add to the charming kitsch factor we referenced, a strolling Alpine Brass band toots out holiday jingles, and there's a six-foot advent calendar holding gifts from different vendors. Oh, and that mulled wine? It's served in a boot-shaped souvenir mug. PSA over. You may now resume picking out your fall boots.—Jenny Berg
