Banana Republic's collaboration with British brand (and Kate Middleton fave) Issa London debuted in stores last Thursday, so we stopped by the Michigan Avenue location yesterday to check out the selection.
Although everything seemed fully stocked—not picked over in the slightest—the collection seemed to be selling fairly well. Store employees said a favorite among customers has been, of course, the blue wrap dress similar to the one Kate Middleton wore in her engagement photos. The top sellers so far though, have been an orange and brown cheetah print wrap dress and a white printed wrap top. (We also loved the zebra print sleeveless sweater dress.)
The line also includes accessories like scarves, canvas and leather bags, and gold chain link necklaces. However, outside of a now expired promo where shoppers received a free scarf for spending $100 or more, those haven't sold too quickly. This may be due to the pricing, which starts at $39.50 for a leather bangle and goes up to $150 for a canvas tote.
The Michigan Avenue location is one of the only stores in the area to also stock the Issa London Collection in petite. It's on their second floor and also appeared fully stocked. Items will be available until they're sold out, so you've still got plenty of time to bring a piece of royalty (well, kind of) home with you.—Shelby Blitz
