Introducing Weather Vain, a new feature about how to keep Chicago's climate from keeping you down.
Romper in Vintage Floral Print, $41.35 at ASOS
If you shy away from rompers because they remind you too much of your style profile circa kindergarden...well, we get it. But the truth is, the romper/jumpsuit/playsuit/onesie/overall thing that's going on right now isn't without merit. In fact, this style can actually be perfect for Chicago weather.
Hear us out: Chicago tends to get windy. It also gets hot in the summer. And while hot weather encourages dress-wearing, wind also makes it dangerous— you know, in case a gust sends your skirt flying into the air, exposing your day-of-the-week undies for all to see.
As such, we're on board with this romper because it isn't too aggressively romper-y; the width and cut of the legs make it look more like a dress, but the wind-defying powers of the romper are still in place. Bonus: The billowy shape of this keeps it from sticking to your bod in humid temps (which we've been seeing all over the place) so this is the perfect thing to wear to one of Chi-town's many street fests.
Even if you're a romper naysayer, you can't deny that the old-school print is totally pretty, and though it's stocked in the petite collection, non-petites can simply size up. The amazing price doesn't hurt either.
