Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Did you miss the Target madness on Sunday? If so, fret not— you'll soon get a second chance to flex your competitive-shopping muscles. And entre nous, we think the rewards at this event are much richer. (Don't tell Phillip we said that.)
On Saturday, October 12, Gilt City will host its Fall Warehouse Sale at Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. A little ways off? Perhaps, but tickets go on sale today, right here. Gilt.com and Infiniti will showcase two 2014 Q50 sedans that were souped up by Zac Posen and Thom Browne, and the snazzy cars will be on display in concept rooms within the sale. (Other Infiniti vehicles will be available for test drives, too.) But if that doesn't rev your engine, this will.
The massive sale will be stocked with men's and women's fashion, home accessories, goodies for kids, and more, all discounted by up to 90 percent (yep, 90.) And those fashion items? They'll bear labels like Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, Missoni, Helmut Lang, and Badgley Mischka.
For $20, you can pick up a ticket that lets you hit the racks at 9 a.m.; tickets to arrive later are $10. But really, we've got to gently nudge you to show up early. This is kind of a no-nonsense scavenging situation.
