Bad news for fiery-dumpling fans: we read that the Gold Coast Big Bowl loses its lease in 2015. But let's look on the bright side: your favorite shop could be moving in. Baum Realty Group and Colliers International Chicago have been selected to market for lease a redevelopment project at the northeast corner of State and Cedar (aka the spot where we get takeout at least once a week.)
Called, appropriately, The State and Cedar Project, the still-conceptual development would include 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space; there would also be a two-story restaurant and banquet space above the shops. And, this proposal also calls for massages: some 8,000 square feet of lower-level space would be marketed to fitness studios and spas. The project would be completed in 2016.
So, what shops could the Gold Coast use? Tell us what you'd like to see in this mysterious redevelopment below—and don't judge us for keeping our fingers crossed for Sephora. If we can't have chicken-lettue wraps we'll take perfume samples, ok?
