Listen up, budding designers: the American Cancer Society is hosting a Project Runway-style challenge. On October 26, the Making Strides Against Cancer Fundraising Walk will see thousands of walkers gathered at Soldier Field. Local fashion-lovers are invited to submit an original t-shirt design that reflects a reason to walk, or to help fight breast cancer in general. (Not exactly a stumper, right?) The designs will be shared with the "Making Strides" community, which will communally channel Heidi and vote for a winning design.
There will be three grand-prize winners, whose t-shirt creations will be showcased throughout Chicago for the month of October. Besides the brush with fame, rewards include brunch with Project Runway designers Kate Pankoke (pictured), Miranda Levy, Helen Castillo, Peach Carr, and Kahindo Mateene.
Got your sketching pencil handy? Email Susan.swartz@cancer.org by September 30 for an entry kit with a supplied t-shirt and more info.
