The Renegade Craft Fair Is Back This Weekend

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Although slaving away over a hot glue gun and some mason jars this weekend to make that "super easy" project you found on Pinterest sounds appealing, may we suggest you throw in the towel and head to Wicker Park instead? This Saturday and Sunday, the Renegade Craft Fair returns to Division Street (between Damen and Paulina) with 300 indie crafters that certainly put our DIY attempts to shame.

Everything from soaps by Etta + Billie to hip-hop inspired jewelry from Leroy's Place will be available for purchase, along with home and pet accessories, food, clothes and screen prints. There will also be a pop-up vintage market by The Vintage Bazaar, food from some of the coolest restaurants in the city (we're talking Black Dog Gelato and Glazed and Infused), as well as live music and workshops.

The fair runs all day long, from 11am to 7pm, which is plenty of time to pick up a professionally done DIY project . And hey, if you want to pretend you crafted it yourself, we won't tell.—Shelby Blitz
