The polar vortex strikes again. Due to the severely inhospitable weather of late (come on, Chicago!) a pipe recently burst at Perchance Boutique and flooded the shop.
While the store undergoes renovations, Perchance will operate out of suite #802 at the neighboring Waldorf Astoria Hotel. And owners sound relatively upbeat: "We will be selling all of our new arrivals and current sale styles out of our beautiful suite until our store renovations are complete," says the store's Facebook page. And, there's always shopping online.
A glitzy hotel is not a terrible place for a pop-up shop, and valet parking is free for visitors to the Perchance suite. But the best silver lining of all? Most of the store's merchandise was moved before it was damaged by the flood.
