Born in Russia, bridal designer Olia Zavozina had a high-profile first client: Barbie. As a tot, Zavozina would sew mini dresses for her dolls. Now, the designer whips up slightly larger gowns, which you can see this weekend at her Nordstrom Oakbrook Center trunk show.

From a quick glance at her website, you can tell that Zavozina has an eye for fairytale-style glamour. But did you know who her favorite celebrity couple is, or which wedding movie she watches on loop? We didn't—and these are important things— so we asked. Read on for our romantic Q&A.

Have you always been a romantic at heart?
Since I was a little girl I have been always intrigued by the fairy tales and by love fat first sight. Love is the most beautiful thing that could happen to us. Now, designing gowns and being a part of someone's big day makes me feel like I'm contributing to the world in a positive way.

Tell us about your current collection!
I was inspired by my favorite laces, so I created my own print this time for the Katherine, Katie, and Aria gowns.

What are the trends you're seeing in bridal dresses this year?
Definitely a lot of sleeves, open backs, and illusion necklines.

Okay, onto the best part—the random questions! Who's your favorite celebrity couple?
Brad and Angelina. How fabulous are they?

What's your favorite wedding-theme movie or onscreen wedding?
My favorite movie is The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey. but for my top onscreen wedding, you just can't beat the Royal wedding. The grandeur of it all was amazing and the fashion was on-point.

What's the craziest proposal story you've ever heard?
I heard of one proposal that was pretty amazing. The couple went skydiving from a helicopter and as they landed, printed on the grass was "Will you marry me?" I thought that was a beautiful blend of adventure and romance.

Since you're in Chicago this week, any favorite things to do here?
I love the [Pritzker Pavilion.] The architecture itself is stunning, and being able to share music with the city is wonderful. Although it might be too cold to catch a show this time of year.
