Kick off the weekend early with one of the many events happening around town this evening. And with many stores and retailers kicking off fall and Columbus Day sales, this will be a fun weekend to shop.

GOOSE ISLAND—Target (1200 N. Larrabee St.) is hosting an in-store style competition this evening at 6:30pm. The event will hosted by Marie Claire Senior Fashion Editor, Zanna Roberts Rassi, and feature competition contestants and bloggers Yanira Garza, Emma Arnold and Dana Weiss. The judge panel features fashion all stars: boutique owner Ikram Goldman, editorial director of Paper Magazine Mickey Boardman and style and beauty expert Mary Alice Stephenson. Icebreaker, the New Zealand merino wool outdoor apparel company, just launched 'The Art Of Nature' Simon Beck Collection. A portion of the proceeds from the collection will support Icebreaker's donation to Protect Our Winters, the environmental non-profit group dedicated to fighting climate change. AVONDALE—This Sunday October 12th, Revolution Brewery is hosting their monthly craft show featuring a variety of handmade products: jewelry, ceramics, cards, scarves, prints, paintings, and bath and body products.
