Local designer and Project Runway alum Kate Pankoke will showcase her gowns at tonight's bridal runway show at Roof on the Wit. Factio Magazine chatted with Pankoke about her bridal design.

Pankoke is the creative director and founder of Elaya Vaughn. It's "a luxury bridal line that specializes in structured, vintage-inspired gowns," she told Factio. "Quality is of the utmost importance, so we use only the highest- quality materials, and all of our gowns are made in the USA—actually, right here in Chicago."

Pankoke described her design aesthetic as artful and feminine. "I believe that there is a formula for the perfect gown," Pankoke said. "It needs to be a little bit sexy, a little bit flirty, and a little bit whimsical. The percentage of each of these elements depends on the bride."
