Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Contemporary fashion brand Vince has relaunched its website, and added lots of local flavor. Called "Neighborhoods," the website takes an editorial approach to profiling the "Vince lifestyle" in different areas of the country—including our very own Oak Street.
To highlight some of the hot spots on the brownstone-filled street, Vince execs tapped neighborhood regulars to dish on their favorite spots. The resulting site showcases iconic Gold Coast activities such as grabbing lunch at Fred's at Barneys or sipping cocktails at The Drake—and, of course, there are suggested Vince outfits for each outing.
A "What to Wear" section calls out pieces deemed particularly appropriate for Chicagoans, including a leather scuba jacket and a popover dress for women and a marbled crew-neck sweatshirt for men.
Like seeing Chicago on the big screen, it's kind of fun to see our hometown styled up for a spread on the laptop screen. So if you need a little work break (or are in the market for some online shopping), take a virtual stroll down Oak Street here.
