Ancien Cycles has opened in Wicker Park, Bicycle Retailer and Industry News reports. The gallery-style shop showcases bikes from Opus, Ritte, Alu-Boo and Moots. But soon, it will sell burgers, too.
The store was founded by friends Scott McIntosh and Mike Fierstein, who love only one thing as much as they love bikes—and that's food. So this summer, the duo plans to open Roll Out Cafe in the space adjoining Ancien. Chef Kristine Subido will oversee the menu of "forward-thinking neighborhood food," which will include burgers and stews. There will also be a full bar slinging craft beers and cocktails, and a patio beer garden.
