A Winifred Grace Boutique is Coming to Andersonville

We just got some shiny, gold news from Andersonville. Next week, local jewelry designer Winifred Grace Gundeck will open her first studio and retail space at 5642 North Clark Street.

A Florida native, Gundeck began designing at the tender age of eight. She sold hand-painted barrettes to a local boutique, and also decked hair combs with silk flowers, feathers, and beads (her mother, an always-loyal client, wore the creations to stylish Miami soirees.)

Fast forward to 2003, when Gundeck founded the Winifred Grace jewelry line from a Chicago studio. The delicate pieces are inspired by patterns found in everything from tapestries in indigenous art.

To celebrate her new retail space, Gundeck will host an opening party on May 8 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The night will include bites, bubbly, and gift bags, and some guests will get a "golden ticket" that entitles them to a free pair of studs. There will also be plenty of shopping, so peep the gallery below to start making your list.
