Gina Kimmel (yep, she was married to Jimmy) is a Chicago-based designer who's caught the attention of Crain's Chicago Business. Her just-launched line of nightgowns and pajamas is inspired by the golden age of Hollywood, and was partially funded through a Kickstarter campaign that helped her raise $16,000.
A few facts on the line: it's named Maddy James after Kimmel's father, James Maddy, and it's currently in production at two Chicago factories. Nightgowns range from $35 to $150, and are based on vintage patterns from the 1920s to the 1950s. But it's this tidbit from Kimmel's website that we love the best:
When her grandfather told the story of meeting her grandmother at a dance hall, he'd say: "Gina, she was the best-looking tomato in the place." So, the company's logo is a saucy-looking tomato.
