Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Summer has officially (unofficially) arrived. And right on cue, the alfresco shopping events are striking up in the city. First up: the Do Division Street Festival and Sidewalk Sale is taking place this weekend. (And yes, we're aware that it's only Tuesday, but we've been waiting for months and months to get our alfresco shopping—or anything—on.)
One of West Town's signature events, the fest includes a sidewalk sale filled with goods from indie retailers. Spanning the stretch of Division Street between Ashland and Leavitt, the sale slings handmade jewelry, designer duds, and more.
There's also an area called "Do Fashion" on Hoyne Street. With designer pop-ups and runway shows, the area showcases goods from local companies like Pyschobaby and M. Go Fashion Company. So save the date, and stay tuned for more summery shopping events.
