Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're back with more scoop on the soon-to-open Bucktown shop, Timbuk2. The store will open later this month, and celebrate with a tamale-filled opening party on May 17. That's right: the Tamale Spaceship food truck will be on hand to dole out snacks, and there will also be beer from Revolution Brewery, a photo booth, gifts-with-purchase from San Francisco (the brand's hometown.)

But let's get to the good stuff: the store itself. Housed in a former firehouse that's been redesigned by Gensler, the shop will have all kinds of cool biker perks in addition to its bags and accessories (read up on those here.)

For one, there's an indoor, San Francisco-style "parklet" for guests to kick back in. Timbuk2 will also launch a bike-share program next month, and will offer bike tools, pumps, and extra tubes for community cyclists to use.
