Vintage weddings are all the rage. If you're planning to add a little throwback flair to your own celebration, consider these tips from a pro. Kate Lerman, owner of Chicago Vintage Weddings, offers her best-practice tips below.

Know what to buy and what to rent: Buy pieces that you can incorporate into your home decor or give as gifts after the wedding. If it is very fragile, bulky, or requires you to shop for a large collection, rent from a pro. Buying something you can't afford with the intent of selling after the wedding isn't worth the stress, nor is buying something that needs a lot of repair. The best vintage items to rent are mismatched china plates, furniture, and flower vessels.
