Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The first thing you should know about the Vixen Workout: it's led by a woman who's unofficial title is the "Twerk-Mander in Chief." That's right, Janet Jones, the creator of the dance workout and a former Miami Heat dancer, will be in town this week to lead hour-long classes at Flirty Girl Fitness.

So, here's the lowdown: Each class is for women only. It starts with a breakdown of the moves, which include "Kitten Stretch," "Twerkalator," and something called the "Milkshake," and then segues into a series of routines that also include squats, lunges, and core work. The lights are kept low, the music is folk tunes (just kidding. It's Beyoncé, Britney, and more), and the session burns anywhere from 400 to 1,000 calories.

The class gets a little wilder from there. Selfies are encouraged (just use the hash tag #vixenarmy), and so are wedge sneakers, lipstick, and lashes. There's also a mantra that's chanted during class: "Yes, I'm sexy. Yes, I'm fierce. Yes, I got this. Yassssss."

Jones will lead classes today and Wednesday at Flirty Girl; on Tuesday, she'll head over to Kareem Team Fitness to lead a class there. After Jones Milkshakes out of town, the classes will still be in regular rotation at both gyms. Each class costs $15; a package of 10 classes goes for $130 (but beware: it expires in three months.)
