Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's still Bike Week in Chicago—and we are in the midst of a new-bike-store surge. To mark the occasion, Bloomingdale's on Michigan Avenue is hosting an event this evening that's especially targeted to the bike-loving crowd.

From 6 to 8 p.m., the Gold Coast shop will host a launch party for the new Bike Share Backpack from Rebecca Minkoff ($195). Exclusive to Bloomie's, the nylon bag is made to be worn on a bike. It's lightweight but still sturdy, and has compartments for a water bottle, a laptop, and other goods like makeup.

At the launch party tonight, there will be cute thematic tropes like a health-food snack bar, a flip-book station, and an "Ask the Bike Expert" panel.
