Sweet Home Chicago

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Looking to deck your walls in a little local love? Check out these new "Drop-Cuts" from Pop Chart Lab. Created by a Brooklyn-based team of woodworking pros, the wooden wall art has handcrafted, laser-cut maps made from walnut, cherry, or hardboard. Framed in oak, the Chicago maps come in seven different styles that include blue-and-white, black-and-white, and black-and-silver color combos. From $120 to $130 a pop, the pieces make excellent pieces of dorm art, now that we think about it. So, if you know a grad who's leaving home and wants a hanging piece of it... you know what to do.
