This week's top dish from Eater Chicago, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
AROUND TOWN—Eater was all about meat this week as the inaugural Five Days of Meat took over. There's an epic poll to crown the best steakhouse in Chicago (you can vote in the finals throughout the weekend), Chicago's iconic meat dishes, the best hot dogs, celeb chef Lee Ann Whippen on the barbecue scene, a feature on Chicago's oldest steakhouse, and much much more.
LOGAN SQUARE—Logan's beloved longtime greasy spoon Johnny's Grill finally has a new tenant. Dustin Tripp, a former chef for Brendan Sodikoff, is planning a Nashville-esque spot named Georgia Mae's at Johnny's Grill.
AROUND TOWN—Eater released the list of hottest restaurants in Chicago just before the holiday. New entrants are Masada, Knife & Tine, and Boltwood.
MICHIGAN CITY, IN—Lightning rod chef Brandon Baltzley finally opened his 10-seat farmhouse restaurant TMIP—and the local health department closed it 8 days later for a lack of permits.
