Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The bad news: Racked Chicago editor Jenny Berg is moving on. The good news: Effective immediately, we're searching for a hardworking, plugged-in Windy City fashion writer to take her place.
The ideal candidate knows the intricacies of Chicago's retail and style scene like the back of her own hand, or the back of her own closet. We're looking for someone who recognizes that Chicago shopping extends beyond Michigan Avenue and Lincoln Park, who is excited to cover breaking retail news from Bucktown to West Town.
Previous journalism experience is a plus, but more than anything, you should be sharp, funny, and obsessed. This is a writing-focused freelance gig with commensurate pay; you'll be able to work from anywhere you want so long as you stay plugged in to local retail news.
Interested? Then send us an email at jobs@racked.com with a paragraph about yourself and a paragraph about why you're right for the gig. If you've got a personal blog, Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram, add links to those as well. No resumes, please! If we like what we see, we'll follow up quickly.
