It was only a matter of time before a magazine dedicated solely to promoting and supporting the work of emerging female creatives popped up in Chicago. Aimed at disrupting and industry overflowing with high-end, editorial fashion content, Glamour Girl is a quarterly magazine focusing on the lives of female artists around the United States.

Glamour Girl is the brainchild of Giselle Gatsby and Jesse Duncan, two friends with backgrounds in photography and fashion. The pair's first issue is set to launch in September.

Join them at 855 North Ashland on Friday, September 12 from 6-10pm for an opening reception to celebrate their launch and unveil their first issue featuring work by artists Tess Johnson, Alexa Lopez, Dani Kay, Crystal Zapata and more. If that's not enough to entice you, the party also features dynamic ethereal and electronica sounds by Chicago band Glass Lux and Romanticized Ideas. RSVP at rsvp@glamourgirl.fr—Mackenzie Nielson
