Damen Avenue's cute-dress-and-vintage-purse game is already strong, but the street's only getting better with the upcoming addition of Vintage Charm, scheduled to open at 1735 N. Damen Ave. on September 2.
The boutique is based in LaGrange, and will be bringing similar wares to its second location. Don't be fooled by the name, though; only 10 percent of the store's stock is vintage. The rest is vintage-inspired—thus the "charm." The store stocks big-name clothing brands like Free People and Tracy Reese, as well as plenty of shoes, jewelry, and home decor.
The suburb of LaGrange doesn't have quite the boutique scene that Bucktown and Wicker Park do, so the curators of Vintage Charm will have their competitive work cut out for them. But stock enough Yosi Samra foldable ballet flats and hippie accessories, and the shoppers will come.
