What happens when a group of Humboldt Park store owners team up to host a monthly bash? For one thing, shoppers get $5, limited-edition cups (see above). Hopping between vintage shops and oddities boutiques, they collect free mini pours and browse through the artsy, quirky, and downright pretty goods the local shops offer.
Dubbed "California Nights," the community gathering takes every third Saturday of the month, with the next iteration scheduled for August 16 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Participating shops currently include Humboldt House, Vintage Quest, Meadlowlark, and Space Oddities. Each month, there's also a pop-up location with an art gallery, along with extra perks like food trucks and the impromptu poker game. "We collaborate monthly on all things California Nights," says Kelly Asaf of Meadowlark. "It's really great to have such an amazing group of business owners who truly want to work together."
