Here's a sneak peek at what will be going on inside that glossy red fashion box (i.e. Ikram) this fall: expect watch-bracelets and handbags from designer Michael Nelson. Nelson, who's based in New York, produces handcrafted items and has a strong social conscience, enlisting a fair trade beading cooperative in Kenya to help him produce his collections. Nelson pays per piece, on the same day the work is completed, and allows the African women to build a sustainable income that's about four times the national average.
Take a peek at some of the items from his Resort 2015 collection; the goods will be available at Ikram starting on October 1.
