Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Rocksbox is a company that delivers a personalized selection of jewelry (or, shall we say "rocks"), right to your door. Try it on, test it out, do a little shimmy in the mirror, and if you don't like it? Send it back.

Founder Meaghan Rose got the idea for the biz when she noticed that her pals had a difficult time building the perfect accessories collection. (After all, a piece of bling is a big investment.) "I wanted to find a way to bridge rental and retail in a fashionable way, and to give women access to an ever-rotating supply of jewelry," said Rose.

To get signed up for the service, first fill out an online style profile that will help the Rocksbox stylists pick out pieces suited to your taste. A set with three pieces of jewelry will be delivered right to you, and you can ship the items back for free when they're done with sparkle duty. Or, if you want to keep something, you can purchase it for 20 percent off retail price.
