Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Owned by two sisters, Oak Park boutique Lively Running specializes in athletic apparel and accessories for the fairer sex. "The concept behind Lively is to provide a welcoming, judgment-free space in which women can shop for apparel, gear, and accessories for their favorite fitness activity," co-owner Kate Pezalla said over email. "Our aesthetic skews more toward Anthropologie than your typical sporting goods store, and we are focused on bringing in clothing designed by independent artists and smaller, harder-to-find athletic brands."

Such as? Inventory includes items from Hoka One One, Moving Comfort, Honey Stinger, and more (see the whole brand list here.) The store hosts its grand opening party this Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m.—but there are also activities for those who like to sleep in (guilty.) All day long, there will be activities ranging from acupuncture demos to balloon-animal making; there will also be refreshments, raffles, and gifts with purchases.
