WEST TOWN—This weekend September 20th and 21st, the Grand Ave Design District will be a mecca for home and garden designers and enthusiasts for the 5th Annual Design Harvest Festival. There will be dozens design seminars, guest speakers, interactive design demonstrations, and vendors. You can expect to see local vendors like Olive Juice, Nicolet Candles, Urban Environments, and Chicago Vintage Weddings, who will be making their retail debut and selling a collection of vintage furniture, tabletop decor, clothing, jewelry and art. $5 suggested donation for admittance.

WEST TOWN— Nail polish company Nailtini and Beauty Bar are hosting an evening of martinis and manicures, benefitting the breast cancer research Thursday evening 7 to 10PM. $5 from every Martini & Manicure service of the night will benefit Basser Research Center for BRCA at the Universtity of Pennsylvania, as well as $2 from every Nailtini product sold on site from September 18th 2014 to October 31 2014.
DOWNTOWN—The 59th Annual Gold Coast Fashion Award Show is taking place Friday at the Hilton Chicago on South Michigan Ave, benefiting the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. The show will feature a live runway with fall fashions from designers and retailers, and there will be a competition for audience members to cast a ballot for their favorite to win the Gold Coast Fashion Award. Designers competing for the 2014 award include Charles Harbison, Giovanna Randall for HONOR, Jennifer Pickett, Michael De Paulo, Stacy Lomman, Tanya Taylor, and Tia Cibani.
