Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Sarah Jessica Parker has been making her way around the country to chat face-to-face with fans about a topic that she holds dear: shoes. Her new line of SJP shoes is available exclusively at Nordstrom, and she'll be at the Mag Mile flagship store on Friday to show off her ladylike accessories.

As part of her tour, SJP has been taking to Nordstrom's Pinterest Page to pin her favorite spots in each city. Her Chicago picks will go live on Friday, but SJP agreed to give Racked a sneak peek at which Windy City spots she loves. Better yet, the style icon advised us on which shoes (and clutch) to sport at each locale.

Read on to get the lowdown on spending a Chicago day in SJP's shoes, and get the complete details on her personal appearance here.

“Enjoy a night of live music at this Lincoln Park blues bar, which has been serving customers since 1968. The Tanny is the perfect shoe to wear for a night out on the town. It's incredibly sexy on the foot, and the French Navy color is heavenly. And certainly a new neutral to be worn with anything.” – SJP [Photo: via Yelp]

“Great non-profit theatre that creates thought-provoking productions, from Balm in Gilead to Grapes of Wrath to August: Osage County.” – SJP [Photo: via Facebook]

"The Zebra Lounge has a nightly piano man, eclectic mix of people and tasty cocktails (if you're legal). It's the perfect 'classy' dive. The Beekman is the perfect clutch to bring along with you. The ample size allows for the reality of what a woman needs to carry while still small enough for an evening out. The colors are amazing! And there's a simple strap to make it more daytime casual and hands-free."– SJP[Photo: via Yelp]

“Visit the North Side of the City to enjoy farm-friendly cuisine, an extensive wine list and delicious desserts. The perfect place to step out in The Lady in geranium. This shoe is the most perfect red and magically seems to bounce light rather than absorb it. It is polite and old-fashioned. With refined beauty.” – SJP [Photo: via Gilt Bar]

“Conveniently located near the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park, this museum is known for it’s robust permanent collection, especially Impressionism—though the recently added Modern Wing is also a must-see.
